Inara

Inara Black is the dark half of the Inara pair, the one that goes towards red fruit and musk rather than freshness.

— The opening is sharp and clean: bergamot and lemon, with a pink pepper that stings slightly. It does not last long, three or four minutes, it is only a doorway.

— The heart is the real signature: rose, peach and raspberry together. The raspberry is what makes it immediately recognisable, it gives a candied side without being cloying, and the peach rounds off the rose.

— The base comes down onto an ambery musk with vanilla and woody notes. That is what makes it last and what gives it its softness at the end of the day.

A feminine fragrance, fruity and enveloping, which works as well by day as in the evening — one of the few in the line that goes everywhere. Six to eight hours. Two sprays; the fruit is generous, it does not need insisting.
