Royal Musk is the richer of the two musks in the selection — where Musk Maliki is discreet, this one has character.
— The opening is short and fresh: citrus and green notes. Its main job is to avoid opening straight onto the heart, which is very present.
— The heart is unusual and that is the whole point: honey, jasmine and saffron. Honey is a difficult note to get right — badly measured it turns cloying — and here it is held by the saffron, which brings it a leathery, dry side. This honey-saffron contrast is the fragrance's real signature.
— The base is velvety: musk, sandalwood and amber. Warm, creamy, it stays a long time.
A late-day and evening fragrance, for autumn and winter. Unisex, but more assertive than Musk Maliki — for someone happy to smell of something. Two sprays; the honey rises fast.

Bleu Edition is the sharpest of the Amber Oud range: a woody citrus made for daytime.
— The opening snaps: lemon, grapefruit, pink pepper and mint. The grapefruit brings a fresh bitterness, the mint a real sensation of cold on the skin for the first few minutes. It is the most energetic opening of the whole selection.
— The heart spices and dries: ginger, vetiver and jasmine. The ginger carries the freshness of the opening further while warming it, and the vetiver already lays down the base.
— The base is woody and resinous: patchouli, cedar, sandalwood and frankincense. Frankincense is the resin burned in mosques for centuries — it gives the fragrance a solemn depth that is surprising after such a fresh start.

Musk Maliki is the clean one of the range — a floral musk, discreet and very easy to wear.
— The opening is green and fresh: violet and violet leaves, with lemon. Violet leaves smell of cut greenery, not of the flower — that is what gives this crisp, lightly tart opening.
— The heart is a classic floral trio: jasmine, geranium and rose. The geranium brings a green, rosy facet that gives the whole thing structure without weighing it down.
— The base is the real subject: musk, amber and sandalwood. A clean, velvety musk, the kind that gives the impression of washed skin rather than of perfume.
This is the fragrance you wear when you do not want to smell of fragrance — at the office, in a meeting, in a closed space. It bothers nobody and it does not tire. Perfectly unisex. Three sprays are justified here: it is deliberately discreet.
