Untold is the most pared-back of the Club de Nuit range: four materials, not one more.
— The opening is dominated by saffron, softened by a discreet jasmine. The saffron is not sharp: it is leathery, lightly honeyed, and it gives the fragrance its character from the first second.
— The heart is the centre of gravity: amberwood and ambergris. Ambergris is one of the most precious materials in perfumery — warm, salty, enveloping — and it is what creates that warm-skin impression you notice on the great orientals.
— The base is dry and balsamic: fir resin and cedar. The fir resin brings a green freshness that keeps the whole from turning heavy, and the cedar gives it its backbone.
An autumn and winter fragrance, for the evening, and genuinely unisex — saffron and amber lean neither way. Two sprays; it has presence.

Club de Nuit Sillage is the most oriental of the range: an unapologetic rose-saffron-oud, a long way from the fresh register of the other Club de Nuits.
— The opening pairs rose with saffron and geranium. Saffron is the signature spice of Gulf perfumery — leathery, lightly honeyed — and with the rose it forms the most emblematic accord of the East.
— The heart is frankly spiced: caraway, nutmeg, violet and chilli. The caraway brings an aniseed, lightly bitter facet that catches you out, and the chilli warms without burning. This is the boldest part of the fragrance.
— The base is deep and resinous: amber, oud, vanilla and patchouli. The oud arrives here in the base, wrapped in vanilla, which makes it approachable for someone who does not usually like oud head-on.
An evening fragrance, for autumn and winter, genuinely unisex. To be honest: the rose-saffron-oud trio is a register that divides — you either love it or find it too emphatic. One to two sprays are enough; it has presence.

Odyssey Dubai Chocolat is Armaf's answer to the pastry everybody has been talking about: the Dubai pistachio-and-kataifi chocolate bar. The house even names kunafa in its composition.
— The opening is frankly gourmand: coffee, pistachio, praline and hazelnut. The pistachio is the note that makes it immediately recognisable — green, fatty, lightly salted — and the coffee keeps it from being sweet from the first second.
— The heart is the dessert itself: chocolate, vanilla and a cardamom that brings in the oriental spice. This is where the fragrance really resembles what its name promises.
— The base carries the pleasure on: amberwood, caramel and tonka bean. Tonka bean adds a facet of almond and cut hay that holds for a long time on the skin.
Frankly unisex. To be honest: it is very gourmand, so anyone looking for something fresh or clean should pass. Two sprays are plenty.
