Nasma

Nasma — “the breeze” in Arabic — lives up to its name: it is the airiest of the whole range.

— The opening is luminous and sparkling: a citrus accord, bergamot, and aldehydes. Aldehydes give that slightly soapy, shimmering sensation that marks out the great classic florals — it can surprise you for the first few seconds, then it settles.

— The heart is soft and aromatic: white flowers, lavender and sweet spices. Lavender in the middle of white flowers is what keeps the whole thing from being too sweet; it brings a clean dryness.

— The base is creamy and discreet: clean musk, amber and soft woods. It is the part that lasts longest, and it gives that impression of washed skin rather than of an emphatic perfume.

This is the everyday fragrance: it bothers nobody, it works at the office, in a meeting, on a crowded train. If you are looking for something that leaves a mark, this is not it — but that is precisely what you ask of a fragrance you wear every day. Three sprays are justified here.
