A green citrus, and galbanum is the key to it. Galbanum is a resin that smells of broken stem, green pepper and sap — it is the greenest material in perfumery.
— Set beside lemon and grapefruit, it turns an ordinary citrus opening into something crisp and cutting. The nutmeg adds a spiced edge to it.
— The heart is brief and clear: orange blossom and jasmine. Two white flowers to round off the greenery.
— Then the base softens everything: sandalwood, vanilla, musk. The fragrance sets off fresh and green and ends warm and soft — a pleasant journey, and rather well made for the price.
Who it is for: someone who finds citrus fragrances too well behaved. The galbanum gives it a character the usual fresh colognes do not have.
Average longevity, moderate projection. Spring, summer, daytime.

The name announces marshmallow, and the official pyramid does not name it. I would rather tell you straight away: what gives the marshmallow effect here is heliotrope. Heliotrope is one of the finest materials in gourmand perfumery: a flower that smells of almond, powder and cooked sugar all at once.
— The opening is orchid, heliotrope and mandarin: that is where all the softness of the bottle comes from.
— The heart is announced vaguely by the house — a gourmand accord and tropical fruits, without saying which.
— The base is clean: vanilla, musk, sandalwood. Warm sugar over soft wood.
Who it is for: someone who likes sweet fragrances but not cloying ones. The sandalwood in the base keeps the vanilla from turning into candy.
Register: all year, rather in the evening in winter. Long wear, moderate projection.

The coffee is announced in the name and it is indeed there — but in the base, not in the opening. It matters to say so: this is not an espresso in a bottle, it is a spiced fragrance that ends on coffee.
— The opening is a trio of warm spices: cinnamon, cardamom, ginger. Frank heat, with no citrus to soften it.
— The heart brings praline and candied fruits — the house does not say which — with white flowers for height.
— And the base does the work: coffee, vanilla, tonka bean, benzoin and musk. Perfumery coffee is not morning coffee: it is a roasted bean, bitter and sweet at once, which marries with the vanilla to give a mocha effect.
Register: autumn, winter, evenings. Long wear, sustained projection.
