Asad means lion in Arabic, and the fragrance makes no attempt to contradict its name.
— The opening is a surprise: pineapple, bergamot and blackcurrant, fruity and sparkling, almost joyful. You cannot yet guess what is coming.
— The heart swings over to birch and patchouli, which give that raw, smoky side that makes the fragrance's whole personality.
— The base is ambery and musky, softened by a discreet vanilla that keeps the whole thing from being too dry.
Frank projection, long wear. Asad gets noticed before anyone has seen you come in. For evenings out, autumn and winter. It is also one of the best ways into oriental men's fragrances.
The notes

Fakhar Extrait is the most concentrated version of the Fakhar range, and the closest to the great sweet masculine fragrances of the market.
— The opening pairs grapefruit, cardamom and pink pepper: fresh, spiced, lightly tart.
— The heart brings tuberose, solar notes and wormwood. That is what gives it the creamy, slightly monoi quality some describe as a luxury sun cream.
— The base rests on amber, cashmeran, leather and labdanum: warm, resinous, and it lasts.
Six to eight hours of wear with good projection over the first few hours. Note: despite the masculine label, the tuberose makes it very wearable by a woman. All seasons, rather in the evening.

Asad Bourbon is the third chapter of the Asad collection, signed by the perfumer Wesley Perumal, and it is the most gourmand of the three.
— The opening is fresh and lightly spiced: lavender, mirabelle plum and pink pepper, juicy without being sweet.
— The heart swings over to cocoa, nutmeg and davana. This is where the fragrance becomes chocolatey, warm, enveloping.
— The base sets in bourbon vanilla, amber and vetiver, which keep the cocoa from turning cloying.
Comparisons with the great masculine gourmands of the market come up often. Six to eight hours of wear, and clearly better after a few weeks of resting. Autumn and winter, evenings. One of the best rated in the whole Lattafa house.
