Zanzibar is not a variation on the original Asad. It is a completely different fragrance, signed by the perfumer Fanny Bal, and you should know that before buying it.
— The opening plays on lavender and black pepper: aromatic, dry, with no sugar.
— The heart brings what makes it particular: a coconut water, a powdery iris and a saline note that evokes skin after the sea.
— The base returns to vanilla and incense, creamy and lightly smoky.
Opinions are divided, with little middle ground. Those who love it talk about a creamy salted iris you find nowhere else at this price. Solid projection and wear. Spring and summer, in the daytime.
The notes
Top — Lavender, black pepper

The masculine version of Fakhar goes in a completely different direction from the original: where the classic Fakhar is fruity and floral, this one is woody and spiced.
— The opening is frank and lively: bergamot, cardamom and pepper, with that small bite that wakes you up.
— The heart brings patchouli, jasmine and rose, which give depth without going floral.
— The base sets in oud, sandalwood, vetiver, musk and amber: warm, smoky, resolutely oriental.
Eight to twelve hours of wear with notable projection. This is an autumn and winter fragrance — the oud and the amber take on their full dimension in the cold. For evenings or special occasions.

Fakhar Extrait is the most concentrated version of the Fakhar range, and the closest to the great sweet masculine fragrances of the market.
— The opening pairs grapefruit, cardamom and pink pepper: fresh, spiced, lightly tart.
— The heart brings tuberose, solar notes and wormwood. That is what gives it the creamy, slightly monoi quality some describe as a luxury sun cream.
— The base rests on amber, cashmeran, leather and labdanum: warm, resinous, and it lasts.
Six to eight hours of wear with good projection over the first few hours. Note: despite the masculine label, the tuberose makes it very wearable by a woman. All seasons, rather in the evening.
