Maahir Legacy has nothing to do with the original Maahir. It is a fresh, aromatic fragrance, the opposite of its elder's rose-oud.

— The opening is dazzling: lime, mint and grapefruit, with a lavender and a pineapple that add relief. Many compare it to a lemon soda.

— The heart toughens up with black pepper, rosemary, juniper berry and a discreet incense.

— The base sets in ambroxan, vetiver, oakmoss and tonka bean: clean, woody, lightly sweet.

One point of honesty: longevity is its weak spot — reckon on three to four hours before you feel the need to reapply. The base, on the other hand, is very well done. Spring, summer, daytime, and perfectly wearable at the office.

Dukhan means smoke. The fragrance draws on the bakhoor ritual, the practice of burning perfume over a coal, and it is the most masculine of the three Khamrahs.

Asad Elixir is the concentrated, darker version of the original Asad. Where the first was fruity, this one sets off on tobacco.

— The heart reveals tobacco and vanilla, softened by cedar. This is the fragrance's main accord, warm and lightly sweet.
