Kismet for Men is a coffee-cocoa gourmand, and it starts without the slightest freshness.
— The opening is dry and spiced: nutmeg, oriental spices and precious woods. No citrus, no freshness — the fragrance starts straight away in the warm.
— The heart is the fragrance's subject: black coffee and cocoa, softened by sandalwood. The cocoa here is not sweet milk chocolate, it is the roasted bean — bitter and powdery. With the coffee, you get the smell of a roaster's counter; the creamy sandalwood keeps the whole thing from going dry.
— The base is soft and then earthy: vanilla, patchouli and vetiver. Vetiver is a root, woody and lightly smoky — it is what brings the gourmand back down and avoids the dessert effect.
An autumn and winter fragrance, for the evening, masculine and owned as such. Be careful not to confuse it with Kismet Magic, which is another fragrance in a rounder bottle. Two sprays.
The notes
Top — Nutmeg, oriental spices, precious woods

Victorioso is the house's aquatic woody, and the only true everyday fragrance in the Maison Alhambra selection.
— The opening is iodine-like: marine notes and bergamot. Marine notes in perfumery are a family of molecules that reproduce seaside air — the salt, not the fish.
— The heart is aromatic: bay leaf and jasmine. The bay leaf brings a very masculine green bitterness, that of a classic eau de toilette.
— The base is earthy and solid: patchouli, oakmoss, ambergris and guaiac wood. Guaiac is a smoky-vanillic wood from South America; the oakmoss gives that smell of woodland after rain.
A spring and summer fragrance, for daytime, for the office, distinctly masculine. Two to three sprays; it stays discreet.

Glacier Gold has a misleading name: despite the word “glacier”, this is not a fresh fragrance.
— The opening plays on two registers at once: cardamom and bergamot on one side, lavender and mint on the other. It is that duo which gives the impression of freshness in the first few minutes, and that is where the icy side stops.
— The heart tips into warmth: cinnamon, orange blossom and cumin. I am telling you frankly, because it is the note that divides: cumin in perfumery is a warm, slightly earthy spice, the one in ras el hanout. It gives a great deal of character and a real skin signature, but it is not a consensual note.
— The base is a classic gourmand amber: vanilla, amber, tonka bean and sandalwood. It is what lasts for hours on clothes.
An autumn and winter fragrance, for the evening, rather masculine. The contrast of lavender-mint in the opening and then cinnamon-cumin-vanilla in the base is exactly what makes it interesting: it starts like a fresh fragrance and ends like an oriental. Two sprays, no more — it projects well.
