Bourbon is the vanilla of Réunion, the richest and roundest — not pastry vanilla, more the scraped pod.

— The heart is resinous: benzoin. It is a resin from Laos that smells of caramel and warm wood; it is what bridges the vanilla and the wood.

— The base is the oud, laid deep beneath the sugar. Both sources also mention amber, warm spices and a powdery effect as it dries down.

A winter fragrance, for the evening, unisex, and clearly an occasion fragrance rather than an everyday one.
