White Castitas

White Castitas is the darkest of the Memoizes, and the one containing the most surprising material.

— The opening is bright: fresh lemon and violet. Violet in perfumery is powdery and lightly sweet — it already announces the fragrance's retro side.

— The heart is the passage that sets it apart: rose, liquorice fusion and plum. Liquorice is a rare note in fine perfumery: aniseed, black, lightly bitter and medicinal.

— The base is broad and deep: amber, musk, patchouli, sandalwood, vanilla and oud.

A winter fragrance, for the evening, unisex. It is opulent and not at all discreet — an occasion fragrance, not an office one.

Extrait de parfum, released in 2019. It is the oldest Memoize in the selection and it belongs to the house's top tier. Two sprays maximum.

Eximus is Memoize's second rose-oud, more floral and brighter than Superbia.

— The opening is delicate: pear blossom and saffron. Pear blossom is a springtime note, white and lightly watery — far finer than the pear fruit.

— The heart is spiced and round: Turkish rose, clove, magnolia and sandalwood. Turkish rose is jammier than Bulgarian rose; the clove bites into it and keeps it from being sickly.

— The base is oriental: patchouli, oud, vanilla and musks.

An autumn and winter fragrance, for the evening, unisex with a feminine leaning.

Worth knowing: it is very close to Superbia from the same house — both are rose-ouds. The difference is the leather: Superbia has it, this one does not, and it is therefore more floral and smoother.

Veritas is the holiday fragrance of the luxury range — fig, coconut and sea air.

— The opening is green and milky: fig, coconut and bergamot. Fig in perfumery is as much the leaf as the fruit: green, milky, a little bitter. With the coconut, the effect is creamy without being sweet.

— The heart is salty: sea breeze, cardamom and cistus. Cistus is labdanum in its raw state — a Mediterranean resin that smells of vegetal leather and of sun-heated scrubland. It is what gives the fragrance its mineral roughness.

— The base is dry: saffron, sandalwood, musk and moss.

A spring and summer fragrance, for daytime, genuinely unisex.

Fig, coconut and salt is the smell of skin after a day at the beach — and the cistus and the moss keep it from turning into sun cream.
