— The heart is the real subject: vetiver, cashmeran, sandalwood and iris. It is a combination of materials both soft and dry — the iris for the powder, the cashmeran for warm wool, the vetiver for the earth, the sandalwood for the cream. A heart of this level is rare in this price range.
— The base is warm and long: amber, musk, patchouli and vanilla. It sets the whole thing down without ever taking over.

Jassar carries a name that means bravery, and it is the most approachable of the Luxus line — the one that is liked straight away.
— The opening is luminous: bergamot, mandarin and jasmine. Having jasmine in the top notes is rare — most fragrances keep it for the heart — and it gives a start that is fresh and already floral at once.
— The heart tips towards the gourmand: caramel and rose. That pairing is the fragrance's signature. Caramel alone would be heavy, rose alone would be well behaved; together they give something warm-hearted and dressed-up.
— The base is comfortable: musk, sandalwood, vanilla and amber. Sandalwood is naturally milky; it carries the softness of the caramel on without making it sticky.

Jarrah is the most carefully built of the Luxus line: a dazzling citrus that ends in resins and leather.
— The opening is a citrus quartet: orange, bergamot, lemon and mandarin. It is generous, crisp, and it lasts longer than most fresh openings.
— The heart is the most interesting passage: pineapple, cistus, labdanum, jasmine and leather. Pineapple over leather is a combination that made the reputation of certain great masculine fragrances — juicy fruit against dry material. Cistus and labdanum are two ambery resins that give depth.
— The base is warm and caramelised: oakmoss, benzoin and amber, over a note of brown sugar. The oakmoss brings the green, earthy foundation of the chypre family, and the benzoin a balsamic roundness.
