— The opening plays on saffron, violet and jasmine. The saffron lays down the leather-and-hay note from the start, the violet brings that slightly retro powder and the jasmine the white flower. An elegant, slightly old-fashioned entrance, in the good sense.

— The heart sets the leather in for good, with rose and cedar on either side. The rose keeps the leather from hardening, the cedar keeps it from going soft. Good balance.

— The base is warm and simple: amber, patchouli, vanilla. Roundness to finish, without falling into dessert.

Worth knowing: the house releases this fragrance in two versions, one for women and one for men, in two different boxes. This is the women's version. And it is a 50 ml format, more compact than the house's 100 ml — a good gift.

Despite its name, there is no jasmine in the foreground: this is a citrus-coconut-vanilla, and it is far more seductive than the name suggests.

— The opening is a slap of citrus — lemon, mandarin, grapefruit — crisp and sparkling.

— The heart arrives and changes everything: coconut, peach, passion fruit and pear. This is the sunlit part of the fragrance, the one that brings to mind a good-quality tanning cream rather than a cocktail.

A floral that turns towards wood, with two materials doing all the work in the heart: cashmeran and coumarin.

— The opening is fresh and noble — neroli and bergamot — with saffron laying down a very oriental leather-and-hay note immediately. It is that saffron which shows the colours: this will not be a well-behaved floral.

— The heart has only two materials but they are powerful. Cashmeran is that smell of soft, musky wood that gives an impression of clean skin and a wool jumper. Coumarin is cut hay, almond, the fougère side. Together they create a woody roundness that lasts.

— The base adds vanilla, musk, amber and an Indian oud announced as pure. The oud here does not bite: it densifies.

Register: mid-season and winter, preferably evenings. Long wear, moderate projection — this is a fragrance that works close to the skin.
