A rose-leather, cleanly built.
— The raspberry and the violet leaf open on a tart, green note, and the caraway slips a touch of aniseed in — an unexpected entrance for a fragrance called Oud.
— The heart is a frank Turkish rose, lifted with cardamom and lit by lily of the valley.
— And it is only in the base that the leather, the amber and the agarwood come up to give the weight. The oud here is not the subject, it is the foundation.
It is one of only two references in the house's numbered line, and a 50 ml format: a more compact bottle, extrait de parfum concentration, a gentler entry price than the 75 ml of the Shaghaf series.
Worn as well by a woman as by a man — the rose and the leather share the work. Mid-season and the cold season, morning or evening.
Average to long wear, measured projection.
The notes
Top — Raspberry, violet leaf, caraway
Heart — Turkish rose, cardamom, lily of the valley
Base — Amber, leather, agarwood

A honeyed tobacco, and that is the whole interest of this sheet: perfumery tobacco has nothing to do with the smell of a cigarette. It is a dried leaf, sweet, a little leathery, a little hay-like — the material you breathe in a cigar box you have just opened.
— The opening is fruity and sharp at once: the plum and the apple give the juice, the pink pepper and the cumin give the relief, the liquorice gives the black roundness.
— Then the labdanum and the amber lay down the warm carpet.
— The tobacco comes to settle on it, supported by honey, vanilla and sandalwood.
Register: autumn and winter, evenings, roll-neck jumpers and wool jackets. In the middle of August it will be heavy — that is the only honest criticism you can make of it.
This is an extrait de parfum. Two to three sprays are enough: reckon on a working day on the skin and longer still on a shirt collar.
The notes
Top — Plum, apple, cumin, pink pepper, liquorice
Heart — Labdanum, amber, ylang-ylang, patchouli
Base — Tobacco, honey, vanilla, sandalwood, cashmeran, musk

— An almond in the opening, crisp and milky, frankly announcing the dessert.
— The heart is a surprise: the cinnamon and the African orange blossom pull towards oriental pastry, and the Turkish rose keeps the whole thing from turning syrupy.
— Then the tonka bean, the vanilla and the amberwood settle in for the evening — toasted almond, warm sugar, soft wood.
No aggressive oud despite the name: it is there to give the base body, not to cut through. Anyone buying this bottle is buying an almond-vanilla, and they will not be disappointed.
Register: autumn, winter, evenings.
Long wear, sustained projection. This is a fragrance that leaves a trace in a room — go easy.
