— The opening is tropical and tart: bergamot, pineapple, mandarin and lemon. The pineapple is the note that strikes first: juicy, sweet, lightly sharp.
— The heart is powdery and noble: iris, clove and rose. Iris is the most expensive material in perfumery — extracted from the rhizome after three years of drying, it smells of rice powder, earth and butter. It is what gives this fragrance its dressed-up bearing, a long way from the simple fruity the opening announced.
— The base is warm: tonka bean, sandalwood, patchouli, musk and vanilla.
A mid-season fragrance, for day as well as evening, unisex with a feminine leaning.
Istanbul is fresh then caramel; Izmir is fruity then powdery.
