Mashumaro — marshmallow in Japanese — is the most expensive fragrance in the selection, and the most unapologetic gourmand.
— The opening is immediate: marshmallow, milk and incense. The first two announce the dessert; the incense is the counterweight, and it does all the work. Without it, the fragrance would cloy; with it, it stays bearable.
— The heart softens further: lily of the valley, rose and caramel. Two fresh flowers laid over caramel — that is what keeps it from being only sweet.
— The base is creamy and long: cashmere wood, praline, vanilla and musk.
An autumn and winter fragrance, for the evening, unisex with a feminine leaning.
This one is richer, more tenacious, and it is an extrait — but it is the same pleasure.
