Thahaani

Thahaani is the most ambitious of the range: an old-school construction, with an aldehydic opening and a real chypre base.

— The opening is rich and sparkling: peach, peony, osmanthus, violet leaves, rose and aldehydes. The aldehydes give that soapy, sparkling sensation of the great florals of the last century. It can surprise in the first minute; give it time.

— The heart is an opulent white flower: orange blossom, tuberose, plum, rose and heliotrope. The tuberose leads — it is the most powerful flower in perfumery — and the plum gives it a fruity roundness that softens it.

— The base is chypre: musk, amber, sandalwood and oakmoss. Oakmoss is what makes the chypre family: a green, dry, earthy foundation that gives depth.

An evening fragrance, for autumn and winter. To be honest: it is opulent and it has sillage — this is not an office fragrance, and the tuberose divides people. But for anyone who loves white flowers, it is one of the best value bottles there is. One to two sprays are plenty.
