Azzure Aoud is the most oriental of the house, and the one that commits most fully to the Gulf register.
— The opening is unusual: passionflower, saffron and rose. Passionflower is an exotic flower with a fruity, green scent, rarely used; paired with leathery saffron and rose, it gives an immediately identifiable start.
— The heart is the centre of gravity: oud, patchouli and benzoin. The oud arrives early and without detours, but the benzoin — a soft balsamic resin — wraps it up and makes it wearable even for someone who does not like head-on ouds.
— The base is warm and sensual: leather, candied citrus, vanilla and amber. The candied citrus is a find: it recalls the opening while adding sugar to it, and it softens the leather.
An evening fragrance, for autumn and winter, listed as masculine. To be honest: this is a real oud, so a register that divides — anyone who has never smelled one should try it before buying. One to two sprays are enough; it has presence.

Vulcan Baie is the fruitiest of the series, and the most inventive: it puts aromatic herbs in the middle of a basket of red fruits.
— The opening is dark and juicy: blackcurrant and blackberry, with bergamot and already some rosemary. Rosemary in the top notes is a bold choice — it brings a dry greenness that keeps the berries from turning to syrup.
— The heart carries on in that direction: raspberry and basil, softened by lily of the valley, over an icy note. That coolness is not a gimmick: it gives the sharp, almost frosted sensation you find in red-fruit sorbets.
— The base is the fullest in the catalogue: strawberry, peach, sandalwood, incense, amber, patchouli and musk. The incense in the middle of all that fruit is the house's signature — it gives depth where a classic fruity would stop.
A mid-season fragrance, for day as well as evening, unisex. Two to three sprays.

Vulcan Sable completes the Vulcan series — after the fire and the berries, the desert.
— The opening is bright and dry: mandarin, orange, coriander and whisky. The coriander brings a green, slightly peppery spice that keeps the citrus from being nothing but a sweet zest.
— The heart is the spine of the fragrance: benzoin resin — styrax —, tonka bean, cashmeran and anise. Benzoin is a warm balsamic resin, slightly leathery and vanillic, used since antiquity. Cashmeran is a musky, woody material that gives that soft-skin effect.
— The base takes up the same resin and drives it deeper: benzoin, vanilla and patchouli. Benzoin is announced twice, in the heart and in the base — it is the fragrance, and the rest turns around it.
An autumn and winter fragrance, for late day and evening, unisex. The most resinous and the most enveloping of the three Vulcans, where the Feu is fruity and the Baie juicy. Two sprays.
