Rose Morocco is the only Vertus reference in the selection, and it is a rose-oud built the French way.
— The opening shows its colours immediately: rose, cardamom, saffron and cade. Cade is an oil drawn from juniper wood — dry, resinous, lightly smoky. It is what gives the fragrance its raw side from the very first second, before the rose settles in.
— The heart mixes the floral and the gourmand: magnolia, geranium, oud and caramel. Caramel in the middle of an oud is a modern choice: it rounds off the wood and makes the whole thing far more approachable than a traditional rose-oud.
— The base is classic and warm: sandalwood, patchouli, musk and amber.
An autumn and winter fragrance, for the evening, unisex with a feminine leaning. Released in 2015 by Vertus, a house based between Paris and Dubai — which explains the style well: an oriental construction in a Western hand.
